SINCE Sept 2006!! ( Sep - Jan )
Yes, I know. By the time you see this entry you would have this statement in your mind: That’s 1 fucking year ago!
Truth is…I know.
Here’s an update in summary on what has happened since then..it may take a while for me to complete typing all in so stay entertained! i suppose I’ll keep it short by keying in the main events.
Sept 2006
- My immediate boss Mr Verghese left Mount Faber, throwing the entire Events Team into disarray. ML has won! E.T lost badly!!
- life must go on…I continue to work through the shit. PJ also stood by me…
- Suddenly, Jewel Box Events Team was all about Kelvin Chan. New enquiry - kelvin, Client is here to view the place - Kelvin, Client needs a proposal by today - KELVIN, Event having some cockups - KELVIN!, Client has yet to pay up - KELVIN!!
Oct 2006
- News spread that we are gonna employ more staff and have a new Events Team HOD. Everyone thought it was gonna be me.
- I knew better.
Nov 2006
- A few personnels were employed. ML took over Events Team for the moment and all of us had to suck up all his shit again. Direct shit this time.
- No real personnel were put to the HOD post. ML employed them…and removed them in a jiffy. What an asshole.
Dec 2006
- Work is really at it very peak by now. My table is FLOODED with files and proposals, menus, contracts, enquiries…simply too much.
- I really don’t know which to attend to first. I just attend to the next urgent one since EVERYONE is urgent.
- Naturally there was some service failure…some damn client got on my nerves and I let them have it.
- There’s one set of Indian Wedding couple who tried to make my life super difficult by not paying on the night of the wedding. The groom said to me "I dunno if u will still be employed the next month…but I’ll pay once I speak with ur boss". guess what asshole…I continued to be employed.
- Priscilla was finally installed as HOD. Things start to get into order..
- I start to build my determination to leave Jewel Box.
Jan 2007
- I start to realise how much this entry is about my work. Yes indeed..at this point in Jan 2007, I realise I have not been present mentally at home. My younger sister is in trouble and she probably will need my presence as brother.
- Verghese came to me with a job offer…I applied immediately. Anywhere now is BETTER than here!!
- Hope renews…maybe…just maybe I am on the right track to stabilising my work life and family time. Sis…wait for me.
